| The NE Forest Education Initiative (FEI) cluster group in partnership with Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) are happy to announce the launch of the Woods for Learning Grant Scheme 2009 / 2010. The small scale grant scheme supports projects which promote the use of woodlands and forests as a learning and development resource in Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire. The grant is available to community groups, schools and woodland education providers. The award is designed to help groups to undertake projects and events that directly engage a diversity of people and promote the use woodlands / forests for outdoor learning activities that are sustainable beyond the project / event. All completed applications must be sent by email to FEI.grampian@forestry.gsi.gov.uk. Equipment to borrow FEI has equipment that can be borrowed, such as: - giant jigsaws covering various aspects of forestry, - two large tipis for use at events, - kelly kettles, - wooden games etc. Most of the equipment is stored near Aberdeen. Please get in touch with Antonia Dunwoody (antonia.dunwoody@forestry.gsi.gov.uk) to book anything out. Also feel free to come and have alook at what we have to offer (again please arrange this through Antonia). |
