FAQsWhich Training Provider should I use?
Most trainers offering Open College Network qualifications in Forest Schools belong to the OCN Forest School Training Network. Please see "Training to become a Forest School Leader" section for more information.
How much does the training cost?
The cost of Forest School training varies depending on which provider you use, but typically ranges from £650 - £850 and takes between 6 months to a year to qualify at Level 3 (A level/Higher)
How do I find a site?
If you are interested in using your own school grounds for Forest School skills, the Level One course may be suitable for you. Go to the Forest School training section, and discuss your individual needs with the training provider.
The Forestry Commission Woodland Officers may be able to help you locate a suitable local woodland site for Forest School. Go to Forestry Commission England for information on your nearest office.
How do I find out more?
Some areas now have their own Forest School coordinator - go to local groups section for contact details. You may be able to attend a Forest School taster session, or visit a local Forest School to find out more.
